Game Mechanics
Baccarat is one of the most straightforward casino card games, played between the Player and the Banker. The objective is simple: achieve a hand value closest to nine. Each round begins with the Player and Banker receiving two cards. Face cards and tens are valued at zero, cards two through nine hold their face value, and aces count as one.
The hand value is calculated by adding card values and taking the last digit of the sum. For example, if the Banker holds a King and an Eight, the total is 18, which counts as 8 in baccarat. Understanding this fundamental calculation is essential before placing any wagers.
After the initial two cards are dealt, a third card may be drawn according to specific rules. The Player acts first, and if their hand totals five or less, they must draw a third card. The Banker then acts based on their own total and the Player's third card, if drawn. These rules are automatic and require no player decision-making.
