Game Fundamentals
Baccarat is a comparing card game where players wager on the outcome of two hands: the Banker and the Player. The objective is to achieve a hand value closest to nine. Each card carries specific point values: number cards are worth their face value, face cards and tens equal zero, and Aces are worth one point. When a hand total exceeds nine, only the second digit is counted, so a hand totaling 15 counts as five.
The game begins with both hands receiving two cards each. Players must decide before play whether to bet on the Player hand, the Banker hand, or a Tie before any cards are dealt. The dealer then follows strict drawing rules that determine whether additional cards are drawn. Understanding these rules is essential for proper strategy implementation.
